　　中文的特点之一是铺垫过长，主题或重点往往埋藏在句子之中，或出现在句子或段落的最后。而英文的风格是开门见山，主题明确、重点突出。译者很容易受中文结构的影响，造成译文行文拖沓、主题不突出。

　　解决这一问题的一个办法就是采用英文的被动句式，打破中文“头轻脚重”的结构，译成“头重脚轻”的英文，实现开宗明义、突出主题。

　　在《中国关键词：“一带一路”篇》的英译中多次出现这个问题，现举例说明：

　　（1）2011年10月5日，时任俄罗斯总理普京在俄《消息报》发表署名文章，提出了“欧亚联盟”的发展理念。

　　原译：In a signed article published on Izvestiaon October 5, 2011, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putinput forth the idea of a “Eurasian Union.”

　　这是俄罗斯“欧亚联盟”倡议词条正文的第一句，介绍“欧亚联盟”的提出。原译紧跟中文语序，上来就是一个长长的状语，跟随主语、谓语之后登场的宾语才是本词条应突出的“主角”，致使Eurasian Union这个主题词在句子的最后才出现。审定稿人调整了语序，将其提前到句首，突出了主题和重点：“欧亚联盟”。

　　定稿：The idea of a Eurasian Union was first proposed by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in an Izvestiaop-ed on October 5, 2011.

　　（2）1989年11月，澳大利亚、美国、日本、韩国、新西兰、加拿大及当时的东盟六国在澳大利亚首都堪培拉举行APEC首届部长级会议，标志着亚太经合组织的正式成立。

　　原译：In November 1989, Australia, the US, Japan, the ROK, New Zealand, Canada, and the then six ASEAN countries held the first ministerial meeting in the Australian capital of Canberra, marking the establishment of APEC.

　　本句出现在介绍APEC的词条。原译跟着中文语序（时间状语+长长的主语+谓语+宾语+地点状语+伴随状语），如此一来，主题APEC就落在了整个段落的最后，一点儿也不突出了。

　　定稿：The forum was formally established in November 1989 at a ministerial meeting in the Australian capital of Canberra, attended by Australia, the US, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Canada, and the then six ASEAN countries.

　　（3）2004年1月30日，时任中国国家主席胡锦涛访问了阿拉伯国家联盟总部，会见了时任阿盟秘书长阿姆鲁·穆萨和22个阿盟成员国代表。会见结束后，时任中国外长李肇星与穆萨秘书长共同宣布成立“中国—阿拉伯国家合作论坛”。

　　原译：President Hu Jintao visited the headquarters of the League of Arab States on January 30, 2004 and met with its Secretary-General Amr Moussa and representatives of its 22 member states. The China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) was established following the meeting.

　　这是“中阿合作论坛”词条的第一段。按中文习惯，主要领导人首先出现，握手言欢之后才宣布论坛的成立。审定稿人在批注中提醒：When the topic is the forum, it has to be the focus. Any mention of other related events should be playing “a supporting role”, rather than staying front and center. This consideration outweighs all other considerations, such as a preference for shorter sentences.

　　定稿：The launch of a China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) was announced by Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing of China and Secretary-General Amr Moussa of the League of Arab States on January 30, 2004 after President Hu Jintao visited the headquarters of the League, and met with Secretary-General Amr Moussa and representatives of this 22-member organization.
